We at College Basketball Times have decided to take our somewhat successful Domination Rankings concept (ranking together all categories: women, men, wheelchair, D1, D2, D3, NAIA, JUCO . . . .) and apply it to just D1 Men. Uh Dave, doesn't that seem to completely contrary to the purpose of the Domination Rankings and CBT's non-profit mission of equality? Well, we also decided to add a brand new purpose to our mission - providing something our readers actually ask for. So you ask, and you shall receive. Though odds are that you didn't ask, but I assure you others did. I think.
Anyway, these rankings are NOT our assertion as to who the best team is. Instead they should let you know who the most dominant teams have been so far (based on record, average margin of victory [AMOV], and a super secret strength of schedule formula) Make sense? Uh, not really Dave. Then take a look below and I think you'll get it. And you might even get a few laughs. You mean the rankings are a joke, Dave? No, not at all. The Badgers gave up 93 points to Illinois but hung in the game due to the scoring of AJ Storr, who led the team with 24 points, and the energetic play of point guard Chucky Hepburn, who scored 20 points and added 5 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. More concerning is that Seton Hall didn't and a team like UVA did, and set the world on fire with 14 pts in the first half last night against a team that I was not aware was a school. Providence played BC in the NIT...which I did not watch because at this point it might as well be as relevant as the Pro Bowl or NHL All-Star game. And if you are St. John's... it is really tough to argue you should be in the tournament because you played a lot of ranked teams out of conference IF YOU DON'T BEAT ANY OF THEM...moral of the story, don't play any ranked teams.
