Saint Francis will Win the NCAA Tournament - Reasons Why By Andrew Connell

Andrew Connell

  1. The Red Flash are hot.

They are playing their best basketball as of late, coming off a Northeast Conference tournament championship where they took down No. 1 seed Central Connecticut State and No. 2 seed Long Island University. Six straight wins gives them a lot of momentum heading into the big dance.

  1. They have balanced scoring.

With six players on the roster averaging over eight points a game this season, it is going to be tough for opposing coaches to build their game plan to stop just one player. The Red Flash can take advantage of the best matchups and ride the hot hand on any given night.

  1. 3-point defense.

The Red Flash rank 43rd nationally in 3-point defense, holding their opponents to 30.9 percent from behind the arc. With that percentage coming on an average of 25.6 attempts per game, Saint Francis excels at forcing their opponents into poor looks.

  1. Frankie the Friar.

Whether you find him intimidating, scary, or funny-looking, Frankie the Friar brings the juice for Saint Francis. Look for him to become a star should the Red Flash go on a deep run. Hopefully, the camera can capture his good side.
