1.JOHNSON CCC CAVALIERS - (W-NJCAA D2) - 20-0 - AMOV: 50.64

Johnson CCC remains the most dominant team once again. It should be noted that these women prefer to be called the Cavaliers. And not the Johnsons.

2.UNION COLLEGE OWLS - (W-NJCAA-D2) - 20-0 - AMOV:47.04

Head coach Marbley Montas named Dwayne Wade as her favorite player. This led her team to ask, "Well, what about us?"

3.NYU Violets - (W-NCAA D3) - 16-0, AMOV:46.31

Trailing by 3 to Case Western on Saturday, NYU needed to mount a comeback if they were going to preserve their perfect record. They hung in there. And managed to pull out a victory. By 76 points.

4.Central Maine C.C. Mustangs (W-USCAA D2) - 20-0 - AMOV:44.14

The school is located in Auburn, Maine. And the number of times this has led to confusion with Auburn, Alabama is exactly never.

5.Kirkwood CC Eagles - (W-NJCAA-D2)-19-0, AMOV:39.21

Kirkwood has an ethics hotline. That might explain why it does not have a law school.

6. College of the Sequoias Giants- (W-CCCAA) 22-0, AMOV:38.55

The front page of the school's website has a heading likely to entice any prospective student: "Today's Cancelled Classes."

7.CCBC Essex Knights (W-NJCAA D2) - 17-0 - AMOV:37.78

CCBC Essex destroyed Prince George. Though I would have rather seen them do that to Prince Andrew.

8.Scranton Royals - (W-NCAA D3) -17-0, AMOV:34.82

Just saw the huge list of famous people who went to Scranton. Yet somehow it did not include Ryan Howard or Jim Halpert.

9.Lane CC Titans - (W-NWAC) -20-0, AMOV:32.44

Emma McDonald had a whopping 31 points against Mt. Hood. And had it not been for every one of those 31 points . . . They would have lost? Well, no. But they would have only won by 44.

Algonquin has cracked the top 10! Reports indicate that their success is due to lively team meetings. No word as to whether they occur at a round table.

Next week they play Labette. I was disappointed to learn that their mascot is not a can of beer. I was even more disappointed to learn that for decades I've been misspelling Labatt.

2.UNION COLLEGE OWLS - (W-NJCAA-D2) - 18-0 - AMOV:46.27

A report reveals that Union College was created in 1933 with the main purpose not being to teach students, but to provide jobs for teachers. And then other schools turned that idea into a guiding principle for colleges across the country: Care more about the staff than the students.

3.NYU Violets - (W-NCAA D3) - 14-0, AMOV:45.43

Blood red, puke green, rat gray, pee yellow, depression black. . . . I mean there are so many colors that come to mind when you think of New York other than violet.

4.Central Maine C.C. Mustangs (W-USCAA D2) - 17-0 - AMOV:41.11

They used to be Central Maine Tech. Then they got rid of Tech. Great. I hate Tech. I also hate being old.

All CCBC Essex students surely know that the campus is tobacco-free. And all students also surely know there is no tobacco in marijuana.

7. College of the Sequoias Giants- (W-CCCAA) 20-0, AMOV:36.00

Mallary Gonzalez is shooting 65% from the field. I'm willing to bet she becomes a star. I'm also willing to bet her parents were fans of Family Ties.

I've been rooting for Lane since 1985 - especially because I can't stand that annoying kid who keeps saying, "I want my two dollars!"

Head Coach Dwight Shaw won the 2020 CUNYAC Coach of the Year. And the best part was a trophy made by Hennessy.

TOP 25 - (AMOV = Average Margin Of Victory)

1.JOHNSON CCC CAVALIERS - (W-NJCAA D2) - 16-0 - AMOV: 48.93

The school's logo pictures a cavalier wearing a wide brimmed hat with one side pinned all the way up on the side with feathers. Back in the 1600s that was called "cocked up." Not sure when they stopped using that term. But I'm guessing soon after it was heard.

2.NYU Violets - (W-NCAA D3) - 12-0, AMOV:47.67

They clearly look like they'll win the UAA. And that should prove quite helpful on Wheel of Fortune.

3.UNION COLLEGE OWLS - (W-NJCAA-D2) - 15-0 - AMOV:43.19

The college's website boasts it "has been preparing students for transfer to prestigious colleges for decades." I'm no marketing expert, but that seems like an unnecessary concession.

4.Kirkwood CC Eagles - (W-NJCAA-D2)-17-0, AMOV:40.59

According to Wikipedia there are 14 different places in the US named Kirkwood. 11 different structures named Kirkwood. And 13 different uses for the name Kirkwood, such as a crater, an aquifer and an asteroid. But there is no wood named Kirk.

5Lincoln Land CC Loggers - (W-NJCAA D2) - 16-0 -AMOV:40.37

The team plays in a state of the art facility, including a beautiful fitness center, called Cass Gym. I assure you no one's getting fat. Except Mama.

Riley Hebler scored a career high at Community College of Rhode Island. Huh. I didn't know Rhode Island was a place to score some quality dubbage.

Adela Cecunjanin just recently had 10 rebounds. Wow, that's a lot. But if she keeps at it I think she'll finally get a relationship that lasts.

The school was named after Eugenio Maria de Hostos is 1968. Apparently at that time the names of every well known person were taken.

Head Coach Greg Sheley's bio says he "has built the Titans program in his own image." Well, I'd say he's failed miserably. Not a single member of the team looks like him.

TOP 20 - (AMOV = Average Margin Of Victory)

1.JOHNSON CCC CAVALIERS - (W-NJCAA D2) - 14-0 - AMOV: 52.13

JCCC is named after Johnson County, Kansas. And I always thought it was named after a guy named Jay who had to be repeatedly told to look at something.

2.NYU Violets - (W-NCAA D3) - 11-0, AMOV:47.09

The school's website boasts that the team "hit the century mark." Maybe it's not appropriate for me to say this, but I swear not a single person on the team looks older than 20.

3.UNION COLLEGE OWLS - (W-NJCAA-D2) - 15-0 - AMOV:43.19

In the victory over Howard CC, Coach Marbely used 20 players. 20! I can't imagine being a coach and using 20 players. Though that's because I can't imagine remembering 20 different names.

4Lincoln Land CC Loggers - (W-NJCAA D2) - 15-0 -AMOV:39.26

They are located in Springfield. And yet their mascot it not Homer Simpson.

5.Kirkwood CC Eagles - (W-NJCAA-D2)-15-0, AMOV:37.90

Kirkwood won the Cougar Holiday Tournament. Note to the men's team: please stop being so jealous. They won a tournament. Not cougars.

6.Hostos Caiman (W-NJCAA-D3) 13-0, AMOV:37.08

The Hostos Caiman break into the Top 10! Yup, I had to look up Caiman. It's an alligator-like creature found mainly in South America. I would have guessed it was a cupcake.

7.Central Maine C.C. Mustangs (W-USCAA D2) - 12-0 - AMOV:37.33

According to the team's online schedule there's video for the latest game against NHTI. It's pretty impressive for small school to provide video. Even more impressive given that the game was postponed.

8. New Mexico JC Thunderbirds - (W-NJCAA-D1) - 15-0 - AMOV:35.78

The women's games are broadcast KNMJ 100.9 FM. That's great for people like me who can't get enough college hoops. And who know what 100.9 FM means.

9.CCBC Essex Knights (W-NJCAA D2) - 13-0 - AMOV:36.61

CCBC touts a free shuttle between campuses for students with a valid CCBC OneCard. A nice amenity that has proven wildly unpopular with all those expecting free shuttle service with an invalid CCBC OneCard.
