UVM (20-11): The Catamounts won eight in a row to finish out the 2024-2025 regular season and reach the 20 win mark for about the 40th consecutive time, The fellas play host to evil New Hampshire today and will find a way to overcome the 8-win Wildcats. In other news, I took a bus to Albany the other day and sat next to a man named Priam. He was doodling in a spiral notebook, doing some kind of landscape sketch of the passing snowy mountains. On the back of the previous page, he had a drawing dated "10.25.15" that bore the title "Football Fantasy: Cam Newton." It included a pillow fight, sleepover, and a game of truth or dare between me and the former Carolina Panther quarterback.

UVM (16-11): The Catamounts are suddenly hotter than a $2 pistol. In one single bound, they've gone from underachievers to overachievers and the townies are all back on the bandwagon. Mostly because there's nothing else to do in town.

2/8/2025

UVM (12-11): The Catamounts head to the Capital district this weekend for a matchup with SUNY-Albany. For about 25 years, they've tried to rebrand as the University at Albany but nobody believes them. It will be an interesting matchup. Montpelier, Vermont's capital, is the nation's smallest, least interesting, and most insufferable state capital. Albany is the ugliest.

UVM (11-11): it's been a tough few days. The Catamounts lost to Binghamton earlier this week and I shit my pants at work. Thankfully, UVM hosts Maine this weekend and the Black Bears could not convince Cooper Flagg to stay in-state.

1/23/2025

The Catamounts are hotter than a $2 pistol right now. They've won three out of four to start conference play. If only their entire schedule consisted of America East games, they'd have a record like John Wooden's UCLA teams.

1/3/2025

UVM (7-7): The Catamounts head down to New Hampshire tomorrow to give the Wildcats a beating. The season hasn't started so great but things are bound to get better now that the likes of New Hampshire, Maine, and the rest of Northern New England's finest fill up the schedule.

12/27/2024

UVM (.500ish): Winter is unbearable enough for both of Vermont's permanent residents. UVM basketball having a crummy season is making it much worse. Now that Christmas is in the rear view mirror, all the townies have to look forward to for the next few months is bitching about the people from away and resenting anyone who has been the least bit successful.

12/21/2024

UVM (6-7): The Catamounts will finish up the 2024 portion of their schedule against Elms College, a school that clearly survived the Dutch Elm Disease epidemic that hit New England trees during the 1970s. I'm not familiar with the Elms College basketball program but thankfully Doug Gottlieb isn't our coach and won't say something stupid to fire up the opposition.

12/13/2024

UVM (5-6): The Catamounts fell to the Los Angeles Rams last night, 12-6. During the third quarter, De'Vondre Campbell refused to enter the game. UVM's chances for a wild card are fading fast.

12/7/2024

UVM (5-5): The Catamounts host Colgate on Sunday afternoon. UVM holds a large advantage in the overall basketball series between the schools, 22-7. However, Colgate holds a slight advantage as the safety school of choice for graduates of second tier southern New England prep schools.

11/28/2024

UVM (4-4): The Catamounts have had an up-and-down November. Thankfully, the Ivy League section of the schedule awaits in December, meaning the Catamounts will not lose again in 2024.

11/22/2024

UVM (2-3): The Catamounts earned their second win of the season on Tuesday night against Buffalo. UVM's victory took place at roughly the same time that most Buffalo sports fans were beginning to recover from their celebrations after defeating the Chiefs on Sunday afternoon.

11/15/2024

UVM (1-2): The Catamounts found a way to lose to Merrimack this week. Typically, UVM reserves this feat for Hockey East play. Last week, UVM lost to Auburn, 94-43. One can only assume that the fight that took place on Auburn's next flight was a product of the Tigers' inability to reach 100 against the Catamounts.

11/6/2024

UVM (1-0): In a contest of mid major powers, the University of Vermont outlasted the University of Alabama- Birmingham, 67-62. The opening night road victory by the Catamounts surprised many in the basketball cognoscenti. Even more surprisingly, it has proven to be the leading news story of the week.
