Top 50 - CBT Domination Rankings - 1/16/2023
1. Rochester Com & Tech Yellow Jackets (Women's NJCAA D3 - 13-0 - MOV 46.07)
This team is beating its opponents by an average of 46.07 points per game. 46.07!! That deserves a "Wow!" Come on, you can do it - "Wow!" There it is. Want another? They have 4 players, Myia Ruzek, Olivia Christianson, Kadance Sikkink and Danika Jones, who are all shooting over 50% from the field. Come on you can do it - "Wow!" There it is again.
2. Christopher Newport Captains (Women's D3 - 16-0 - MOV 40.12)
And now, in honor if CNU's 7th straight week in the top 10, I give you yet another fun fact about Captain Christopher Newport. With Sir Francis Drake, he raided Cadiz, Spain. Afterward, he and Drake danced, but just one dance. And from the looks of things these women on CNU's team might have one dance too - at the end of March.
3.LSU Tigers (Women's D1 - 18-0 - MOV 38.11)
The official name of the school is Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. I'd love to hear play-by-play announces start using that. Odds are they'd pass out by the end of the first quarter. "Rebound by Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College. Oh no, USC steals it! But it's taken right back by Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College!"
4. South Carolina Gamecocks (Women's D1 - 18-0 - MOV 36.11)
The University of South Carolina houses the world's largest Ernest Hemingway collection. Makes sense given that he spent most of his life in Illinois, France, Florida and Idaho.
5. UMass Minutewomen (Women's Club - 6-0 - MOV 42)
Uh Dave, there are now props for 5 straight women's teams and not a single men's team. "About time" - says every female college basketball player everywhere.
6. Morton College Panthers (Women's NJCAA D2 - 17-0 - MOV 37.8)
It does not appear that the Morton College Women's basketball team is associated with Morton's - the very high end steakhouse restaurant. Why? This basketball team is too good for them.
7. College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles (Men's NJCAA D1 - 21-0 - 25.90)
They go by CSI. Hmm. That could make for a great show. CSI: Golden Eagles - starring Nate Meithof (42% from 3) and Isaiah Moses (94% FT). Somebody call the folks at CBS.
8.Palomar College Comets (Women's CCCAA - 17-0 - MOV 35.71)
How could you not root for a school with a name that rhymes with Mallomar? Too bad they don't have someone on the team named Cookie. They instead have Deajanae Harvey who's scoring a whopping 24.9 points per game.
9.Orange County Comm. College Colts (Men's NJCAA D2 -16-0 - MOV 33.30)
Their school color is - wait for it - orange. Yeah, it would have been really funny if it was purple. And yet I went with the line anyway. That's at least kind of funny.
10. Georgetown Hoyas (Men's Club - 4-0 - MOV 43)
Wait a minute, Dave. They have an average margin of victory of 43, yet you have them this low? That's because they haven't played a game since well before my unfortunate decision to spend New Year's Eve with Ryan Seacrest. I assure you it was far from "Rockin."
11.Richard Bland College Statesmen (Women's NJCAA D2 - 14-0 - MOV 36.06)

Top 40 - CBT's DOMINATION RANKINGS - 1/9/2023
1. Rochester Com & Tech Yellow Jackets (Women's NJCAA D3 - 11-0 - MOV 42.68)
High temp in Rochester, Minnesota this Friday - 22 degrees. Let's hope their yellow jackets are made of down. Or maybe they can just stand near the blazing hot Kandace Sikkink who was on fire shooting 8 for 12 in their last game.
2. Richard Bland College Statesmen (Women's NJCAA D2 - 12-0 - MOV 41.9)
A case could made that these women should be slightly higher. But they won by "just" 32 on Tuesday.
3. CCBC ESSEX Knights (Women's NJCAA D2 - 15-0 - MOV 40.47)
Every time I hear CCBC I hear AC/DC. No, it does not make me old. It makes me nearly deaf. Probably from listening to too much AC/DC. Regardless, I'm sure I could have heard the nets snapping when Cassandra Hawthorne scored 14 points off the bench last seem. Ok, maybe I couldn't have.
4. Christopher Newport Captains (Women's D3 - 14-0 - MOV 41)
It's that point in the rankings where I bring you yet another fun fact about Captain Christopher Newport. Uh Dave, what if we don't want another? Too bad. He once presented King James with 2 crocodiles and a wild boar. That may have been the origin of the phrase, "What were you thinking?" A question that Washington & Lee must have asked themselves when they allowed Katy Rader to hit a game winning shot with 0.1 second left on Sunday.
5. Georgetown Hoyas (Men's Club - 4-0 - MOV 43)
Wait a minute Dave, these guys have still only played 4 games. Yeah, but they have a margin of victory of 43. Oh so that's the reason they are this high? Well, that and we don't want to be yet another media outlet that discriminates against men when it comes to college hoops.
6.LSU Tigers (Women's D1 - 16-0 - MOV 39.75)
How do you explain having LSU as the highest ranked D1 Women's team when both the AP and Coaches polls have four teams ahead of them? Because we're right and they're wrong.
7. Pearl River CC Wildcats (Women's NJCAA D1 - 12-0 - MOV 39.58)
While their famous alum, Jimmy Buffett, might be wasting away in Margaritaville, these women are wasting away their competition.
8.Central Maine CC Mustangs (Women's USCAA D2 - 14-0 - MOV 39.35)
Other than this team, I can't imagine there are too many Mustangs in Maine. In all of that snow you'd just spin around with the rear wheel drive.
9. South Carolina Gamecocks (Women's D1 - 16-0 - MOV 36.88)
Yeah, maybe I should have thought what I was going to write for this entry before I wrote #6.
10. Nova Southeastern Sharks (Men's D2 - 14-0 - MOV 29.21)
The school has a motto of "Become Part Of Shark Nation." Which I believe is also a motto of sharks.
11.UMass Minutewomen (Women's Club - 6-0 - MOV 42)
12.DeSales Bulldogs (Women's D3 - 13-0 - MOV 35)

20. Johnson College (Women's NJCAA D2 - 8-0 - MOV 32.71)
21. Transylvania (Women's D3 - 14-0 - MOV 27.79)
22.Arizona Wildcats (Men's Wheelchair 5-0 - MOV 31.25)
23. Ohio State (Women's D1 - 17-0 - MOV 23.76)
24. Ashland (Women's D2 - 14-0 - MOV 25.25)

32.Brookdale CC (Men's NJCAA D3 - 13-0 - MOV 22.92)
33.Indiana University Pennsylvania (Men's D2 - 13-0 - MOV 20.38)
34. Keene St (Men's D3 - 13-0 MOV - 20.38)
35. Dordt (Women's NAIA - 16-0 - MOV 20.69)
36. Oakton College Owls - (Women's NJCCA D2 - 14-1 - MOV 42)
37.Chipola (Men's NJCAA D1 - 18-0 - MOV 18.89)
38. Cal State Dom. Hills (Women's D2 - 14-0 - MOV 19.85)
39. City College of San Francisco (CCCAA - 14-1 - MOV 33.33)
40. Houston (Men's D1 - 16-1 - MOV 24.06)
Others Receiving Praise: Statistical assistance from Kenneth Massey and masseyratings.com as well as from Cameron Strerrett, Luke Hutchinson, and Jorie Allen. Dave Barend provided the hopefully humorous comments. To be clear, the hope is that the comments are humorous, not that they are full of hope.
TOP 35 - CBT’s DOMINATION RANKINGS -1/1/2023
1 Oakton College Owls - (Women's NJCCA D2 - 13-0 - MOV 48)
Breaking News: Oakton Community College is no longer #1! Oakton College is. Yes, a new year and a new name, but with the same incredibly dominant women's team.
2. Christopher Newport Captains (Women's D3 - 13-0 - MOV - 44)
Christopher Newport's streak of being ranked continues and, therefore, so does my streak of providing a fun fact about Captain Newport: He raided Spanish freighters while on the Little John. To be clear, the Little John was the name of his ship. Though you'll find nobody named "John" on this team - which makes sense for a bunch of women - there is someone who might be considered "little." At a mere 5' 1", Gabbi San Diego leads the Captains with an impressive 48 assists.
3.LSU Tigers (Women's D1 - 14-0 - MOV 41.2)
The Lady Tigers have a sophomore named Last-Tear Poa. This begs the question: Does she ever cry? If so, it's not at the free throw line. She leads the team shooting 82%.
4.CCBC ESSEX Knights (Women's NJCAA D2 - 15-0 - MOV 40)
The Knights won 3 games in 3 days last week. I would like it known that I did the same thing. Though I should divulge I was playing against my daughters. And the game was Candyland.
5. Rochester Com & Tech Yellow Jackets (Women's NJCAA D3 - 9-0 - MOV 39)
The mascot's name is Sting. So clearly the team should be called The Police. Maybe not. But these women definitely need to be called winners.
6.Georgetown Hoyas (Men's Club - 4-0 - MOV 43)
I'd love to see the team get sponsored by Goya. Then they could be Goya's Hoyas.
7.Central Maine CC Mustangs (Women's USCAA D2 - 14-0 - MOV 39.35)
Head coach Andrew Morong is a phenomenal recruiter. How do I know? Look at his roster. He has somehow, someway convinced two players to come to Central Maine from the state of Florida.
8. South Carolina Gamecocks (Women's D1 - 14-0 - MOV 37.9)
Though Hootie and the Blowfish went to South Carolina, these women are making people forget that. In fact, I just mentioned this to my two daughters and they both said, "Who's Hootie and the Blowfish?" See, I'm right.
9.DeSales Bulldogs (Women's D3 - 12-0 - MOV 34)
The school's motto is "Be Who You Are And Be That Well." Ok, but what if you're a loser? That philosophical conundrum need not be pondered by these ladies as they are clearly winners.
10. Palomar College Comets (Women's CCCAA - 14-0 - MOV 31.5)
The school has a massive website promoting its vast array of offerings. Though it really just needs 3 words: Located in San Diego.
11.UMass Minutewomen (Women's Club - 6-0 - MOV 42)
12. NYU Violets (Women's D3 - 10-0 - MOV 33.7)
13. Morton College Panthers (Women's NJCAA D2 - 13-0 - MOV 33)
14. Gulf Coast State (Women's NJCAA D1 - 13-0 - MOV 31)
15. NYU Violets (Men's D3 - 11-0 - MOV 30.18)
16. Alabama (Women's Wheelchair - 8-0 - MOV 35)
17.Arizona Wildcats (Men's Wheelchair 5-0 - MOV 31.25)
18. Nova Southeastern (Men's D2 - 12-0 - MOV 29.25)
19. Southern Idaho (Men's NJCAA D1 - 15-0 - 25.8)
20. Campbellsville (Women's NCCA - 13-0 - MOV 26.5
21. Ohio State (Women's D1 - 15-0 - MOV 25.7)
22. Orange College (Men's NJCAA D2 - 8-0 - MOV 28.3)
23. Trinity-TX (Women's D3 - 13-0 - MOV 25)
24.Western Conn. (Men's D3 - 10-0 - MOV 26.2)
25.Ashland (Women's D2 - 14-0 - MOV 24.5)
26. Tougaloo (Men's NAIA -11-0 - MOV 22.3)
27. Dordt (Women's NAIA - 14-0 - MOV 22)
28.Brookdale CC (Men's NJCAA D3 - 13-0 - MOV 22.0)
29.Davidson-Davie Co (Men's NJCAA D2 - 12-0 - MOV 21.6)
30. Keene St (Men's D3 - 11-0 MOV - 21)
31.Chipola (Men's NJCAA D1 - 17-0 - MOV 19.9)
32.Indiana Univ PA - (Men's D2 11-0 - MOV 21)
33.Thomas More (Women's NAIA - 13-0 - MOV 20.76)
34. Williams (Men D3 - 12-0 - MOV 20.7)
35.New Mexico (Men's D1 - 14-0 - MOV 15.7)
Others Receiving Praise: Statistical assistance from Kenneth Massey and masseyratings.comr as well as from Cameron Strerrett, Luke Hutchinson, and Jorie Allen. Hopefully humorous comments by Dave Barend. And the humor can be found with the comments, not the rankings - hopefully.
